The light and dark of being a founder:

Light side

  • An idea hits.
  • You gather a world-class team.
  • You raise money.
  • You build a product people love.
  • You solve real pain.
  • Press loves you.
  • “Unicorn” starts to whisper.

Dark side

  • 10 years of no balance.
  • Missed dinners. Missed birthdays.
  • Anxiety that sometimes turns into depression.
  • Everyone else looks successful; you feel like an impostor.
  • Paper valuations that aren’t cash.
  • The fear: if the company fails, I fail.
  • Long stagnations. Sometimes bankruptcy.

The truth: both sides run in parallel.

Often in the same week. Sometimes the same day.

Before you sign up for this 10-year road, look your family in the eyes.

Ask if you can carry both the light and the dark.

If yes — go all in. Build with love. Keep your people close.

If no — that’s strength too. Choose a path that lets you sleep at night.

AI News

1. OpenAI DevDay: ChatGPT as an App Platform

At DevDay 2025, OpenAI made another major push to turn ChatGPT into more than just a chatbot — this time positioning it as an AI operating system. The biggest reveal is apps inside ChatGPT. With the new Apps SDK, developers can plug tools like Spotify, Canva, and Zillow directly into the chat. Users can now search, create, and interact with these apps without leaving the conversation.

But DevDay wasn’t only about integrations; it introduced new ways to build, connect, and scale with ChatGPT.

  • Introduced AgentKit, letting developers build, test, and ship task-oriented AI agents without complex setup.
  • Launched an admin console, fine-tuned data controls, and custom knowledge bases — especially for enterprise and team users.
  • Enabled monetization & commerce inside ChatGPT, so apps can sell services or goods and drive revenue flow.
  • This ties into OpenAI’s new AMD partnership and bigger plans to expand computing power for the next wave of ChatGPT apps and agents.

2. Perplexity’s Comet Browser Goes Free for All

Perplexity just opened Comet, its AI-powered browser, to everyone. Once reserved for $200/month Max users, Comet blends search, chat, and summarization into one interface. You can read a page, ask questions about it, get instant summaries, or save insights into Spaces for later.

Free users now get full access to the core AI assistant, while Max subscribers unlock a new Background Assistant — an agent that quietly handles side tasks like booking flights, drafting messages, or comparing products while you browse. There’s also a new Comet Plus plan ($5/month) for deeper content curation and premium sources.

The move isn’t just about scale. Perplexity says it wants to fight the wave of low-quality AI content flooding search results by offering trusted, source-backed answers inside the browser itself.

3. Meta to Use AI Chat Data for Ads and Recommendations

Meta just announced a major change: starting December 16, 2025, your chats with Meta AI will help personalize what you see on Facebook and Instagram. Ask the chatbot about travel ideas, new gear, or recipes — and you’ll likely start seeing posts, Reels, and ads tied to those topics.
The new system adds AI chat activity to Meta’s usual mix of likes, follows, and clicks to fine-tune recommendations. There’s no opt-out, though Meta says chats about sensitive topics won’t be used for targeting.

OpenAI — AMD Massive Deal

OpenAI and AMD announced a jaw-dropping multi-year deal on October 6! They're teaming up for a massive rollout of AMD's super-powerful Instinct GPUs, kicking off with the hot new MI450 chips in late 2026. This epic partnership is worth tens of billions and even allows OpenAI to grab a large share of AMD's stock. AMD's CEO Lisa Su called it a total "win-win" for supercharging AI, and OpenAI's Sam Altman warned about the insane demand for more computing power. AMD's stock skyrocketed in premarket trading – what a game-changer!

X is blowing up right now — investors are excited, memes are spreading, and people are talking about another AI bubble. Analysts say it’s a big moment for AI, pointing out that the deal could make OpenAI hope AMD’s stock hits $600 to boost its 10% stake.

The big question everyone’s asking: Nvidia supports OpenAI, OpenAI buys chips from AMD — does that weaken Nvidia’s lead? And behind all the hype, there’s a real concern: can power grids and data centers handle this massive energy demand?
